‘Community Day’ Brings Families Together Through Arts & Culture
Dubai Culture offers 21 workshops designed to inspire creativity and learning at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children

Dubai, UAE, 22 September 2025: Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, an entity under Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is set to host Community Day, a full-day program of immersive activities and hands-on free workshops designed for children, families, and art enthusiasts of all ages. The initiative aims to spark creativity, encourage participation in art, music, and theatre, and reflects the Authority’s mission to widen cultural access while reinforcing Dubai’s standing as a global hub for the creative economy.

Hosted at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children on 27 September, the event will feature 21 sessions across a variety of creative disciplines. Highlights includeMusical Theatre & Acting,’ where participants will build acting, vocal, and movement skills, and ‘Creative Painting,’ which introduces the fundamentals of drawing. Additional theatre-focused activities will cover costume design, puppet-making, and stage performance.

The program also includes pottery, where participants can learn hand-building and wheel techniques to create distinctive ceramic pieces, and music workshops focusing on instruments, rhythms, and melodies. A ‘Creative Awareness’ event will highlight the role of art therapy in achieving balance and enhancing self-awareness. Young visitors will be introduced to the basics of visual language and experiment with colour pouring to produce unique artworks, while families can enjoy interactive games and cooking classes. The day will conclude with a collaborative mural, which participants can add their own unique touches to, capturing the spirit of expression and togetherness. The event is free to attend and open to all members of the community. Workshop registration will open on the event day itself, September 27, giving everyone the opportunity to take part in a vibrant celebration of creativity and culture.
