Dubomedy is launching a special immersive workshop dedicated to the art of sketch comedy creation and performance.
In response to growing interest from performers and content creators alike, Dubomedy is introducing a new Sketch Comedy: Writing + Acting Workshop designed for creatives ready to develop original comedic work/scripts for both the stage and screen.
With sketch comedy continuing to thrive across social media platforms through reels, digital shorts, and online video content, this workshop offers participants the opportunity to sharpen their comedic voice while learning practical tools for creating engaging, performance-ready material.
Participants will explore:
• Acting techniques and character development
• Sketch writing and creative collaboration
• Physical comedy and prop work
• Creating and performing original sketches
• Direction, feedback, and filming tips
Select sketches will also be professionally filmed.
The workshop will be led by Mina Liccione, MFA, a Broadway and Cirque veteran, performing arts professor, and internationally recognized comedy performer and educator.
Liccione has taught at institutions including New York Film Academy, New College of California, and the American University of Sharjah’s Performing Arts Program. In addition to holding a double Master’s degree in Performing Arts, she completed professional development training in improvisation and sketch comedy at Chicago’s renowned Second City Training Center.
Her extensive work spans stand-up, sketch comedy, physical comedy, theater, film, and television, including Comedy Central, MTV, National Lampoons, and the Stand-Up Sketch Show Series, currently streaming on MBC Shahid.
The workshop is open to performers, actors, comedians, writers, and creatives interested in developing original comedic material in a collaborative and supportive environment.
