Dubai Culture Launches ‘Hatta Little Explorers’ Winter Camp 2025 to Celebrate the Region’s Heritage

Dubai, UAE – 17 November 2025: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the launch of the Hatta Winter Camp, set to take place at Hatta Heritage Village during weekends from 15 November to 3 December 2025. Designed to immerse children in the beauty and spirit of Hatta, the camp invites participants to explore the region’s landscapes, traditions and values through hands-on experiences. The initiative supports the UAE’s Year of Community campaign and complements the wider development vision for Hatta, reinforcing the objectives of the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 to enhance the area’s cultural and social vitality.

Held under the theme ‘Hatta: Together as One,’ the camp takes inspiration from the book ‘Hatta’ by researcher Juma Khalifa bin Thalith Al Humairi, which captures the region’s rich legacy. Created for children aged 7 to 12 years, the program offers a series of interactive activities spread over four weekends, allowing participants to engage directly with Hatta’s unique natural surroundings. Guided by a team of experts and specialists, it aims to deepen children’s understanding of local heritage while fostering teamwork and a shared sense of national identity.

Across the four weeks, those enrolled will embark on adventures that bring Hatta’s story to life. The journey begins with ‘The People & The Place,’ where children discover how the mountains, forts, and farms have shaped the lives of Hatta’s community. In the second week, ‘The Honey Makers’ offers a glimpse into the world of beekeeping – meeting apiarists, exploring the surrounding landscape, and learning how honey is gathered from the mountains. During ‘Wadi Jeema & Water Wonders,’ young learners will trace the path of water from its mountain sources and explore traditional irrigation methods once used to sustain homes and farms. The final weekend coincides with the UAE’s 54th Union Day, celebrated under the theme ‘Hatta’s National Day,’ offering children a joyful and collaborative experience that deepens their sense of belonging and pride. Throughout the program, a range of creative and educational activities will further highlight the UAE’s traditions.

Commenting on the initiative, Mariam Dhain Al Tamimi, Manager of Al Shindagha Historical District and Acting Director of the Heritage Sites Department at Dubai Culture, noted that the camp reflects Dubai Culture’s ongoing commitment to nurturing awareness, social responsibility, and cultural connection among the younger generation. She said: “Through the Hatta Winter Camp, Dubai Culture aims to create meaningful experiences that inspire creativity and curiosity. The program allows children to find out more about Hatta’s heritage and way of life through engaging activities that celebrate the region’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Each session has been thoughtfully curated to develop essential skills and foster a lifelong appreciation for learning and discovery.”
