Dubai Culture opens the door to a summer of discovery with camps set across the city’s heritage and cultural landmarks. Children and teens aged between 4 and 16 can dive into hands-on activities and creative adventures designed to spark innovation and strengthen their sense of national identity.
Children can look forward to the ‘Archaeology Adventure’ summer camp at Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest heritage museum. Running over two weeks—July 14 to 18 and July 21 to 25— the camp invites ages 6 to 12 to step into the world of archaeology, from exploring the Restoration House and trying out indoor excavations with real tools to creating artefacts and joining in treasure hunts.
At Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, the ‘A Burst of Imagination’ camp helps young residents build skills and discover their creative talent. Running in two groups, each lasting two weeks —July 7 to 18 and August 4 to 15— the program immerses participants in everything from abstract art and playful movement to the vibrant traditions of the UAE.
A Summer of Heritage & Innovation at Dubai Public Libraries
Children aged 5 to 14 are invited to a summer of exploration and creativity at the Dubai Public Libraries Summer Camp, organised by Dubai Culture under the theme ‘Heritage and Innovation.’ The camp, which offers interactive art experiences and artificial intelligence tools, will take place over two durations: July 14 to 25 and August 4 to 15.
During the two camps, children will have the opportunity to learn about boat-building techniques, Emirati fashion design, and the traditional game “Al-Qahif” as part of the artistic workshops. As for the artificial intelligence workshops, participants will have the chance to develop a “chatbot” and work on the “smart tent” by exploring and programming the basic features of the microcontroller (Micro:bit), along with other interactive workshops. Each camp will conclude with a showcase of the participants’ achievements during the open day.
The registration fee for the camp is AED 210 for Dubai Public Library members and AED 420 for non-members, with members receiving a 50% discount on the camp fee.
