WFADS and Al-Maktoum Holding Group to develop acrobatic dance, breaking
Alliance Advances Global Dance Sport Development and Youth Empowerment Across Continents
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 22 December 2025 – The World Federation of Acrobatic Dances and Dance Sports (WFADS) today announced the formal signing of a strategic Cooperation Agreement with Al-Maktoum Holding Group, marking a significant milestone in the global development of acrobatic dance and breaking as internationally recognized sports disciplines.
The agreement was signed during the WFADS World Breaking Championship, held on 19 December 2025 at Dubai Sports City, under the Esteemed Patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, a member of the Ruling Family of Abu Dhabi. The championship brought together elite athletes from more than 40 countries, affirming its status as one of the most prestigious events in the global calendar of breaking and acrobatic dance sports.
Under the agreement, Al-Maktoum Holding Group, the Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Abdulhakim Obaid Suhail Buti Al Maktoum, a member of the Royal Family of Dubai, becomes an Official Partner of WFADS, supporting the Federation’s mission to promote excellence, integrity, and social responsibility in sport. The cooperation establishes a framework for collaboration across international sporting events, athlete development, sponsorship engagement, and socially responsible initiatives, while fully preserving WFADS’ governance autonomy and sporting regulations.
A key pillar of the partnership is joint support for WFADS’ flagship social initiative, “Be a Champion,” which focuses on identifying and nurturing athletically gifted youth in the United Arab Emirates and internationally, while promoting inclusion, healthy lifestyles, and long-term athlete development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Oleg Firer, Vice President and Presidium Member of WFADS, stated: “This partnership reflects a shared vision of sport as a force for social good, youth empowerment, and international unity. Signing this agreement at the World Breaking Championship, in the presence of the world’s best athletes, symbolizes our commitment to elevating acrobatic dance sports to new global heights.”
Dr. Munir Ahmad Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Maktoum Holding Group, added: “We are honored to partner with WFADS at such a landmark international event. Our cooperation is grounded in social responsibility, international collaboration, and a belief in the transformative power of sport to inspire future generations.”
The WFADS World Breaking Championship 2025 not only showcased world-class athleticism and artistic excellence but also reinforced the UAE’s growing role as a global hub for international sport, youth development, and cultural exchange.
The newly signed Cooperation Agreement enters into force immediately and is concluded for an indefinite term, providing a long-term foundation for collaboration between the two institutions in advancing global dance sport development.
