Dubai, UAE, 3 September 2025: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in collaboration with the Dubai National Theatre, has concluded the ‘Acting and Directing in Open Spaces – A Creative Outdoor Workshop,’ held under the Dubai Performing Arts program. The initiative was created to empower emerging talent, giving participants the opportunity to strengthen their skills in acting, directing, and storytelling.

The workshop underlines the Authority’s ongoing commitment to enriching the performing arts scene, fostering an environment that sparks innovation, and advancing Dubai’s status as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.

Led by theatre expert Dr. Thamer Al Arbid and hosted at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, the program welcomed 31 students and theatre enthusiasts. Sessions also covered the fundamentals of script analysis, staging, scene design, movement, and actor direction.

In addition, the course encouraged new ways of thinking about space and production, inspiring experimentation and teamwork. Through hands-on exercises and short showcases, participants honed their artistic practice while exploring innovative approaches to bringing performances to life in outdoor and alternative settings.
