30th ArtMap Celebrates Creativity, Showcases Dubai’s Cultural Season

Launched by Dubai Culture in collaboration with thejamjar

Dubai, UAE, 3 November 2025: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in collaboration with thejamjar, has launched the 30th edition of ArtMap, offering a comprehensive guide to art galleries, major festivals, and key cultural events taking place across Dubai and the UAE. The publication reaffirms the Authority’s commitment to empowering artists, thinkers, and entrepreneurs through effective platforms, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for the creative economy.

The new edition captures the energy and diversity of the city’s cultural landscape, spotlighting the season’s most anticipated events. These include the 11th Dubai Design Week, organized in strategic partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group, and supported by Dubai Culture from 4 to 9 November. It also highlights the reopening of Tashkeel and its distinctive new exhibitions, as well as Dubai Culture’s own initiatives, such as the inaugural Dubai Youth Performing Arts Festival, which will unite emerging talent in theatre, music, and folk arts.

A key feature of this issue is the upcoming 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Dubai 2025), hosted for the first time in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region, from 11 to 17 November, under the theme ‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.’ The publication includes interviews with Manal Ataya, Director General of Sharjah Museums Authority, and architect Adib Dada, Founder of theOtherDada studio, who share insights on the event’s global significance and its role in shaping the future of museums.

ArtMap 30 also profiles leading artists and curators from the UAE and the wider region, including Lucas Morin, Senior Exhibitions Curator at Jameel Arts Centre; Emirati artist Sara Al Khayyal; internationally acclaimed artist Issam Koubaj; and artists Afra Al Dhaheri and Aya Haidar, currently exhibiting in Sharjah. The edition marks major milestones for Green Art Gallery and 1×1 Art Gallery, both celebrating 30 years since their founding, alongside Christie’s Dubai, which commemorates two decades since its first art auction in the city. It also covers exhibitions taking place at Alserkal Avenue, including ‘The Shape of Things to Come,’ curated by Dexter Wimberly and featuring works by renowned international artists such as El Anatsui and Iman Issa.

A special supplement explores sustainability in public art and green creative spaces, offering in-depth interviews and case studies that examine how artists are responding to environmental and social change.
