LONDON, UK –Monday, February 10th  2025 – The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is getting ready to return to Saudi Arabia next month for the inaugural Jeddah E-Prix at the record-breaking Jeddah Corniche Circuit (JCC).

Season 11’s first double-header will take place on a specially modified 3km configuration of the celebrated street circuit on February 14th & 15th, tailored specifically for Formula E and electric racing. In total, the new layout will comprise 19 high-speed turns, racing anticlockwise along Jeddah’s famous street track which runs along the magnificent Red Sea coastline. Formula E’s brand new GEN3 Evo cars – the fastest-accelerating FIA single-seater in motorsport – are set to put on an incredible show for fans watching in the grandstands and at home.

Featuring four new chicanes, the new circuit layout will intersect just before the Turn 4 area of the regular F1 track before emerging on to the Turn 21/22 section of the lap. From there, two chicane complexes have been installed between the normal Turns 25 and 26 section before the regular track’s final corner that leads onto the pit straight. The run to the start/finish line will also feature two more chicanes, the first a left/right/left followed by a reverse complex of right/left/right tight chicane before the starting grid area.

Work on the new layout was completed in merely 30 days. A team of 120 staff successfully implemented the changes that will allow Formula E to compete at the world’s fastest street circuit for the first time on February 14th & 15th, 2025.

In another first for the Championship, PIT BOOST,  a new mid-race feature providing a 10% energy increase (3.85kWh) via a 30-second, 600kW ultra-fast energy boost in the pitlane will debut during the first of the two Jeddah E-Prix races. This mandatory sporting feature – deploying significantly more power than current consumer superchargers – adds another strategic element during selected races, with the potential to dramatically alter race outcomes and tactics. More information on PIT BOOST can be found here.

Angus Miller, Senior Track & Overlay Manager, Formula E said“Delivering a brand-new track layout at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in just 30 days was an immense challenge, but one that our dedicated team of 120 track specialists tackled with incredible skill and determination. The success of the inaugural Jeddah E-Prix is a testament to the seamless collaboration between Formula E, the Ministry of Sport, and the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), SMC (Saudi Motorsport Corporation) whose support has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Seeing the circuit come together is a proud moment for everyone involved, and we look forward to seeing Formula E fans come and enjoy watching the cars race on it for the very first time this weekend in Jeddah.”

Samer Issa-El-Khoury, Managing Partner of CBX, Promoter of the Jeddah E-Prix, said“We are really excited to see Formula E arrive in Jeddah, and thanks to the collaborative efforts between CBX, Ministry of Sport, SAMF and Formula E we have adapted the Jeddah Corniche Circuit to create a track we believe will deliver great electric racing for fans and drivers alike. The work has been a true team effort, and I can’t wait to see the cars go racing this weekend.”
