80 Emirati players compete in the National Day Tournament
Thursday, November 30, 2023: Alef Chess Olympiad 2023 continues its global events, with 80 Emirati players competing in the National Day Tournament on Friday, December 1st. A total of four tournaments are taking place in the Emirate of Sharjah, the emirate capital of culture.
The Olympiad is organized by Alef Group, a pioneer in developing premier lifestyle communities, destinations, and lifestyle experiences through investment and strategic joint ventures. The event is in collaboration with the Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club and is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

He expressed his pride in the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the Olympiad, which is being held in Sharjah. He highlighted the tournament’s importance in preparing future generations to fly the flag of the UAE positively in all international forums.
He praised the players who demonstrated brilliance in the Olympiad, stressing that they are ambassadors for their countries in honest competition. He emphasized that the Olympics reflect the organizing country and that it is an opportunity for institutions in the UAE to challenge and prove themselves.
Alef Chess Olympiad 2023 is considered the largest chess gathering in the Arab world and the Middle East. Around 1000 players from 25 countries participate in four diverse tournaments, including the Super Stars, National Day, Open Stars, and Futures.
